One killed, three injured in explosion at RIU Montego Bay hotel

One person has been killed and three others injured in an explosion at the RIU Montego Bay Hotel in Ironshore, St James.

Public Relations Officer at the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Emeleo Ebanks says the explosion happened in the main boiler room.

However, he said it was too early to determine the cause.

It's not clear who the victims were.

In the meantime, Ebanks said the injured people have been rushed to hospital.

He also said the hotel remains open.

"We are satisfied that further danger has been averted," Ebanks said.
