54-y-o vendor killed, partner hospitalised after Sandy Bay attack

A 54-year-old vendor has been killed and her common law husband hospitalised in critical condition after gunmen attacked them at home and set ablaze their house in Sandy Bay, Clarendon last night.

The police say Cecelia Johnson and her common law husband were at home on Inverness Drive about 11:30 p.m when men armed with high-powered weapons kicked off their door and opened fire hitting them.

The gunmen then set the house on fire before escaping the area.

Johnson and her common law husband were rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The common law husband has been admitted in critical condition.

A 15-year-old girl who was in the house at the time was also injured.

She was treated hospital and released while a five-year-old girl who was also there escaped injuries.
