The agreement was signed at the JNSBL's head office at Duke Street, Kingston, recently.

DSS is the authorised distributor of Brother electronic equipment, locally. It is also a provider of computers, networking and office equipment sewing equipment and point-of-sale terminals. In addition, they provide document services such as graphic design, scanning and printing.

"We welcome this partnership, which comes in the wake of renewed calls to invest in technology to improve efficiency and profitability," said Thelma Yong, deputy general manager, JNSBL.

"Globally, investment in ICT equipment has given participants competitive advantages and often results in savings. Consequently, giving our clients the opportunity to achieve a competitive advantage through the services offered by Digital Systems and Supplies is welcome," Yong added.

Under the terms of the MOU, JNSBL will also make its suite of loan products fully available to DSS customers, once they meet the requirements for financial support. Successful loan applicants will be able to access between $60,000 and $15 million. JNSBL will also refer clients seeking office equipment, sewing machines and graphic services to DSS.

"This agreement is also useful to our clients who are involved in the information technology and creative industries, as it will allow them access to state-of-the-art equipment, which can improve efficiency. It will also allow DSS customers to access funding," Yong pointed out.

Garfield Ellis, marketing director of DSS, explained that his company was a supporter of entrepreneurship and, therefore, tailored its products and services to meet the needs of micro, small and medium-size businesses.
