Work starts on Poor Man's Corner main road

A team from the National Works Agency (NWA) has started interim remedial work at a section of the Poor Man's Corner main road in St Thomas which has been inundated with flood waters due to recent rains.

Motorists in Yallahs who traverse the main thoroughfare into the town recently expressed frustration over the continuous flooding of the section of the road.

They say the area experiences severe flooding whenever it rains.

The motorists argue that the problem has persisted without attention for over two decades.

The work being done is to provide motorists with interim relief until the start of the proposed Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project which is set for early next year.

The project is to include widening and improvement of the road from Harbour View to Yallahs Bridge.
