Be Bold About Coir
The second instalment of Coir Living Conference, had women coming together to discuss their natural mane and 'Be Bold About It'.
The panellists included TV personality Emprezz Golding, lecturer and author Dr Lisa Hamilton, natural hair enthusiast, Candice Williams, and blogger Dayna Palmer, who spoke about their natural hair journey - from their struggles of acceptance to their common appreciation and identification of who they are.
Members of the audience members shared their own stories of the struggles and some of the setbacks that they face in corporate Jamaica in wearing their own hair.
'Sistas' came together and took selfies, bonding over their common hair experiences, sharing little tricks of the trade, on how they achieve their perfect wash and goes and twist outs.
Centre of Attraction
While natural hair was the centre of attraction, especially with the discussion, the conference had more to offer, with vendors that catered to our every need. They had everything from skincare and haircare lines, which included Goddess Glow, make-up artists, massages from gifted hands, Jamaica's own feminine line called Women's Touch and accessories upon accessories.
Sherelle Curtis, owner of Asherlee Naturals, did a demonstration on how one can define one's natural curls.
It was an afternoon of sisterhood, self-love, and naturalista awareness.
