Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by four wickets in the opening match of the Caribbean Premier League at the Brian Lara Stadium on Tuesday.

Rain forced a delayed start by an hour-and-a-half and also resulted in a reduction in overs.

The Amazon Warriors posted 144 for five off 17 overs with Shimron Hetmyer leading all batsmen with 63 not out, while Ross Taylor 33 provided support against Sunil Narine 2-19.

Narine returned to hit an even 50 as TKR got to their target with two balls to spare, tallying 147 for six off 16.4 overs.

Darren Bravo scored 30, while Naveen-ul-Haq 2-21 and Imran Tahir 2-40 did most damage for the Amazon Warriors.
