Japanese Embassy organises calligraphy session

The Embassy of Japan in Jamaica is organising a calligraphy session on June 21. In this one-hour session participants will be taught the basics of Shodo, the traditional Japanese calligraphy.
Shodo is a revered form of art in Japan, which is seen as a beautiful skill. This form of calligraphy is created using brush and ink. It is said that Shodo is a work of art and also provides serenity and spiritual concentration.
