Mayers double strike leaves Bangladesh in further peril

West Indies medium pacer Kyle Mayers struck a double blow, picking up two quick wickets to leave Bangladesh reeling at 115 for six at lunch on day three of the first Test in Antigua.

The visitors who resumed the day on 50 for two, added 16 runs in the morning session, before Mayers got Najmul Hossain to edge one to John Campbell at first slip for 17.

Eleven runs later Mayers was back in the action, trapping Mominul Haque in front for four, to leave the visitors in further trouble at 75 for four.

Kemar Roach would then join the party when he had Liton Das caught by Mayers for 17.

But Roach wasn't done wither, picking up the sixth wicket of the innings by removing top scorer Mahmudul Hasan for 42.

Roach has so far picked up two wickets for 29, Alzarri Joseph two for 33 and Mayers two for 16. Captain Shakib Al Hasan will resume after lunch on five and with him is wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan on two as Bangladesh still trail by 47 runs.
