#Champs2023 | KC’s Patrick breaks 110mh decathlon record
Kingston College’s (KC) Isaiah Patrick scored a massive 987 points for the defending Boys’ champions in the 110-metre hurdles of the decathlon early on day three of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships inside the National Stadium.
Patrick, who competed in heat three, clocked a new record of 13.90 seconds, erasing the previous mark of 13.96 set by Calabar’s LaFranz Campbell back in 2017.
Jamaica College’s Dorian Charles, who finished second in the heat, clocking 14.45, earned 917 points for being second-best overall.
Hydel’s Zico Bennett was the winner of heat two in 15.60, but the time was only good enough for fourth overall and brought him 778 points.
Omar Locke, who won heat one in 15.41, was third overall and eked out 801 points.
