The St James Police have charged 24-year-old labourer Trevaughn McDonald from Rose Heights in the parish, with the murder of a man in Mount Pleasant district, Westmoreland in June 2023.

The deceased is 40-year-old Damion Henry otherwise called 'Frass', a farmer who lived in Content district in Westmoreland.

Reports are that at about 10:15 a.m. on June 8, 2023, Henry was standing along the Mount Pleasant main road talking to friends when a Toyota Axio motor car drove up and McDonald allegedly alighted from the front passenger seat armed with a gun. He reportedly opened fire at Henry, hitting him multiple times.

McDonald escaped in the vehicle.

A report was made to the police and Henry was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

McDonald was later arrested.

He was charged on March 16 after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
