If Owen Pryce didn’t believe in destiny beforehand, he certainly did the moment he crossed paths with the angelic beauty better known as Dannieth Powell. He explained that God played a pivotal role in their union, adding that he was more than happy to go to her rescue when she called for assistance. Circumstances surrounding their heart-to-heart journey date back to five years ago when an alarm was raised about car troubles.

“In 2019, my husband and I first met due to car issues I was having. His cousin, who I was friends with, had previously done work on my car. So after developing other issues with my vehicle, I reached back out to him, only to find out that he had migrated. That’s when he recommended his cousin, Owen, who had great mechanical knowledge and skills, and who he also spoke very confidently of and highly recommended,” Dannieth told Island Wedding.

She initially hesitated, expressing a preference to wait until he visited the island before considering his cousin’s recommendation or reaching out to anyone new about her car. Despite this initial hesitation, how did Owen manage to overcome these obstacles and break the ice? Fate intervened when Dannieth’s mother’s car alarm began experiencing similar issues, and Owen was the one who successfully diagnosed and fixed the problem. “Her mother and I became familiar with each other after fixing her car alarm,” Owen added.

After a month, Danneith’s car alarm issues escalated to shocking proportions, shutting down her car as a result. “She reached out to my cousin again and kept complaining about the problem. Much to his surprise, he asked her, ‘Why haven’t you called [Owen] to come and look at it for you?’.”

Since Owen had already built that trust with her mother, Dannieth had enough confidence to give him a try. Owen would then traverse from St Catherine to see his new client in Portland, where she resided.

“The car alarm kept us having to make more than one arrangement to meet up to get it resolved, which, in turn, caused us to become familiar with each other. A friendship grew out of that situation,” he added.

Initially, Dannieth thought Owen was very courteous, professional, confident, and focused. Once receiving divine confirmation and entering a relationship with him, she couldn’t help but notice just how charming, caring, God fearing, and goal oriented he was.

“While he’s physically attractive, internally, he’s a sweet soul. He always wants to know if I’m okay and does whatever he needs to make sure of it. He shows me exactly who he is and what his real intentions are, sharing his past and his weaknesses with me. He initiates conversations about God, has a great appetite for the things and word of God, and never fails to say ‘Let us pray’. And he’s always thinking of ways to improve his life and his future,” she revealed.

As the man of her dreams, he is always pushing her to become the best version of herself. Owen is super supportive of her aspirations, advising her of the best times to make the right moves, “He tries to resolve issues quickly. He’s always praying for our relationship, always reaffirming his love and creating an atmosphere in which I can be vulnerable and real with him.”

When Dannieth first got in touch with Owen, he thought of her as this strong, no-nonsense person who asked many questions. As he got to know her better, he found her to be lovable, intelligent, tenacious, loyal, and focused, “Always up for an adventure, she’s willing to share hugs and kisses, and she is educated. She can argue on any point of any topic. She’s very determined by never giving up with a lot of things she does. Always staying true and transparent by my side, she knows exactly what she wants in life and the type of person she wants in her life,” he added.

Giving him a great sense of hope and inspiration, Dannieth motivates him to be the better version of himself, protecting the love and commitment they both share.

After three beautiful years of courtship, Owen decided it was time to fulfil their hearts’ desires, popping the question one morning at home. And Dannieth said yes.

She explained” “It turned out to be two proposals as the first proposal was on November 17, 2022. However, I later discovered that I was pregnant, and we both agreed to delay the wedding until the birth of our child. Owen thought he’d want to propose a second time to see if I still had the desire to marry him after a very rough pregnancy and postpartum period.”

Describing the second proposal as unexpected yet sweet, she had no clue that it would happen when it did. “He proposed to me on his birthday because he said if he got a yes, that would be the best birthday gift ever and [had] the intention of giving me the best birthday gift ever by marrying me for my birthday.”

On February 17, with the assistance of family members and friends, Owen and Dannieth joined hearts in holy matrimony at Boone Hall Oasis in Stony Hill, St Andrew. Delighted that the wedding was intimate and perfect in every way, the groom shared that seeing his stunning bride walking up the aisle towards him, with her father in hand, was a moment this handsome groom would forever treasure.

“The wedding was so magical, filled with happiness, thankfulness, intimacy, laughter, and the tangible presence of God. After all, it was God who did it,” the blushing bride enthused, adding, “The best moment of the wedding was when the marriage officer pronounced us as husband and wife because finally, I belong only to him and he only belongs to me.”

At the wedding reception, the newly-weds engaged in their official dance as husband and wife to Elvis Presley’s song, Can’t Help Falling in Love. “In that moment it felt like nothing and no one else mattered. I just wanted to savour and live forever this special moment just between my groom and I,” Mrs Pryce added.
