Clunis’ Olympics dream in jeopardy

Nayoka Clunis, Jamaica's hammer throw representative, will have to wait to see whether she will be included on the country's team to the upcoming Paris Olympics following news her name had been omitted from the list submitted to World Athletics.
Clunis, despite finishing second at the recently concluded senior trials behind Erica Belvit, qualifies for the Olympics having thrown a season's best effort of 71.83 metres back in May. This mark exceeds the World Athletics 'B' standard of 70.00 metres and leaves her ranked 25th in the world.
However, earlier today the 28-year-old shared on X, formerly Twitter, that “due to an omission made by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association, my name was not officially submitted to World Athletics."
"As such. I do not have a position in the Olympic Games. I pray for swift and positive resolution, and until such time as one comes, will not have any further comment,” she stated.
She said she has been assured that all possible remedies are being explored and that there is "hope that this issue may soon be resolved".
