Jamaican national high jump champion Lamara Distin has signed her first professional contract with German sporting giants PUMA.

Distin made the announcement today on her social media pages.

Distin, who holds the Jamaican indoor and outdoor records for women's high jump, made the transition after graduating from Texas A&M University where she competed on the collegiate circuit.

“Excited to announce that I'm stepping into the next chapter of my career with PUMA Running,” she captioned.

“Huge shout out to my amazing management group FORTE Track and Field for their unwavering support and guidance. Excited for the future and opportunities ahead.”
