St Catherine man charged for injuring another with concrete block granted $500,000 bail
A St Catherine man charged for using a piece of concrete block to injury another was today granted bail in the sum of $500,000 with surety.
Charged with wounding with intend is 41-year-old Mickelle Warmington of Browns Hall district, St Catherine.
Bail was granted by Senior Parish Court judge Desiree Alleyne.
Attorney-at-law Michael Campbell made a successful application on his client's behalf.
"Your honour the medical report suggested no permanent injuries. My client has been in custody for a long time and is needed at home to care for his three children," Campbell said.
Warmington was ordered to report to the police on Tuesdays, surrender his travel documents, do not contact the complainant and reappear in court on September 20.
Allegations are that on June 13, 2024, the complainant was observed urinating against the motor truck of the accused.
A dispute between them, when the accused reportedly flung a piece of concrete block, which wound the complainant's head.
He was rushed to hospital where he was admitted for his injuries.
A report was made to the Browns Hall police and an investigation launched, which resulted in the accused being arrested and subsequently charged.
