Jamaican trio into Olympic men’s 400m hurdles semis

It was an impressive showing for Jamaica in the heats of the men's 400-metre hurdles at the Paris Olympics as Jaheel Hyde, Roshawn Clarke and Malik James-King all qualified for the semi-finals in comfortable fashion.
The fastest of the three, Clarke was a class above the rest in heat four as his time of 48.17 seconds was more than enough to take the win ahead of Nigeria's Ezekiel Nathaniel, 48.38.
James-King was the second Jamaican of the day to win his heat in his qualification process. He was a smooth operator in lane two as he ran 48.21 ahead of second placed Matheus Lima, 48.90.
Hyde also booked his place in the next round as he trailed early event favourite Rai Benjamin of the USA to the line as the duo stepped away from the field.
Hyde stopped the clock in 49.02 while Benjamin was first in 48.82.
