The National Chorale of Jamaica staged musical dramatisations of excerpts from George Gershwin’s classical Afro-American opera Porgy & Bess on Wednesday at the Courtleigh Auditorium. With Sir Willard White, world-class operatic bass-baritone, playing the role of Porgy, and his wife, acclaimed mezzo-soprano, Lady Sylvia Kevorkian-White, playing the role of Bess, the production hit the right notes and the audience enjoyed every minute of it.
