Julian Marley and Antaeus submit new remix for Grammy consideration
New York, NY:
Following their recent Grammy win for Best Reggae Album with Colors of Royal at the 66th Grammy Awards, Julian Marley and artiste-producer Antaeus are setting their sights on a new category: Best Remixed Recording in the Pop & Dance/Electronic Field.
The Jah Sees Them - Amapiano Remix, a high-energy club track, fuses Julian’s signature reggae sound with the pulsating rhythms of South Africa’s Amapiano genre. The remix was crafted by a team including DJ Footsteps, MrMyish, Antaeus, Joe Maldonado and Alex Psaroudakis.
“The (Jah Sees Them) Amapiano Remix represents my deep passion for music beyond just reggae. It’s a powerful fusion that bridges cultures and genres, reflecting my belief that music has no boundaries,” Julian Marley is quoted in the press release.
Antaeus added, “This remix echoes our team’s dedication to creating timeless music that connects with listeners across generations. The track is a testament to our commitment to push the envelope and create sounds that resonate with the heart and soul, transcending borders,”
The official mash-up video premièred on Monom’s YouTube channel. Directed by Damaniac Visualz, the video captures Julian and Antaeus in Jamaican locations like Kingston, Wickie Wackie Beach, and Port Antonio. As the sun sets and bonfires ignite, stunning Caribbean beauties and a mesmerising fire breather dance to the track’s irresistible rhythm, creating an alluring visual experience.
The eligibility period for the 2025 Grammy Awards run from September 16, 2023, to August 30, 2024.
Fresh off a successful European tour, Julian Marley is set to join The Marley Brothers, Legacy US Tour alongside Ziggy, Stephen, Ky-Mani, and Damian Marley, beginning September 5.
