Denham Town police lockup detainee dies at hospital

The matter is being probed by the Independent Commission of Investigations.

An investigation has been launched into the death of a Denham Town police lockup detainee who died at hospital.

Twenty-three-year-old Michael Adams of Land Castle district, Portland passed away at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) on Monday.

It is reported that Adams, who was being accused of murder, was escorted from the police station to the hospital on Friday, October 4, where he was admitted.

He was reportedly found unresponsive around 12:30 on Monday.

Adams was later pronounced dead.

This is the fourth case involving the death of a detainee in police custody in the past two weeks.

The Independent Commission of Investigations is probing the latest incident.
