The Renaissance String Quartet (RSQ) returned to the UWI Mona chapel on Saturday for Beyond Boundaries II, a captivating charity concert blending classical music with Jamaican rhythms. Joined by the Immaculate Chamber Ensemble and Charles Town Maroon Drummers, the RSQ performed pieces by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Jamaican composer Peter Ashbourne. Highlights included Bob Marley’s I Shot the Sheriff and Jimmy Cliff’s Many Rivers to Cross. The evening ended with a standing ovation and a post-concert soirée, reinforcing the RSQ’s mission to unite music and social impact. Something Extra has the highlights.
