Not much of a cricket fan

But what a cricket weekend this one!

If the West Indians were sales persons

They surely sold me cricket!

After a little uniform trouble

Burst the English bubble!

Sharp in cricket gears

The second title in five years

Wait! Carlos Brathwaite

I wonder if there was a woman in the mix

'Six or no fix'

Strike after strike after strike

Six after six after six

Sounded like whips after whips after whips

On the backs of the English

Our West Indians were the masters in the field

A crop of sixes, an abundant yield

Punished with our West Indian bats

Power-hitting slaps that knocked sense

into those who doubted

Country to country I'm sure the fans shouted!

A victorious chase on Thursday

Now a winning beating on Sunday

Champion men, champion women

Champagne popping for the champions

"What time is it" , you asked

To inform you then is my task

It's the time to forge ahead and not quit

To stand resolute and negativity resist

Procrastination helps nothing

A fact we all must admit

Past failures and mediocrity forget

No time to reminisce and regret

Nor to burden oneself with doubts and sit and fret

Put away vain and selfish attitude But seek instead to display gratitude

To soar ahead, to gain higher altitude

Requires consistency and fortitude

It's no a time to clutch frailty

But rather to embrace our creativity

While acknowledging our humanity

What time is it?

A time to exhibit confidence and class

To persevere and success grasp

Allow no one to validate you

Nor judge you by your past

Not intimidate you with follicles that will not last

Instead stimulate that power and strength that lies within you

Alienated those fears and cares that once grew

It's a time to illuminate that unique, beautiful and wonderful you

A time to reject discouragement, timidity and abuse

Discontent and despair refuse

Denounce lack and all setbacks

Obliterate descending voices

Confusing and unintelligent noises

It's time to prepare for attack

Forge ahead relentlessly, to keep on track
