Karl Brown launches ‘Steadfast Faith’ and ‘The Powered-Up Man’

Steadfast Faith and The Powered-Up Man by the Rev Karl Brown were launched recently.

Apart from the literary conversations, the highlight of the evening was the author’s famous bread pudding, served with Rev’s special sorrel rum sauce.

As the author shared insights into his latest work: “I want these books to spark conversations – whether within families, among friends, or even in small groups – about what it means to live fully, authentically, and faithfully even in the midst of life’s struggles.”

Rev Brown’s ability to connect with individuals, transforming lives through both his books and his interactions, was celebrated throughout the event. His charge to his audience to “Let’s not just launch these books tonight. Let us launch a movement of hope, strength, and unwavering faith. Let’s launch a community of powered-up men and individuals who will steadfastly embrace their faith as Christians in these changing times.”

The words of the senior pastor of the Kingston-based Glory-Carriers International Ministries-Apostolic reflected the author’s dedication to his craft and his mission to reach those who feel marginalised or disempowered.

The Rev said that “while writing, I thought of those who might never walk into a counsellor’s office, who may feel their struggles are too small — or even too big — to share with anyone. These books are my way of meeting you wherever you are, offering a message of hope, strength, and purpose”.

The evening was masterfully guided by a vibrant and engaging master of ceremonies, whose energy was infectious. One particularly heartwarming moment came when she encouraged attendees to use a single word to describe their impression and experience of Rev Brown. The responses were touching and spoke volumes about the impact of the author’s work and character, leaving many inspired and deeply moved.

The opening of the evening was nothing short of divine. Keron Clark’s soulful songs of praise had guests dancing in worship, setting the tone for an evening filled with joy and jubilation. The musical highlight continued with a breathtaking performance by saxophonist Deshaun Fender, whose melodies added a touch of elegance and artistry to the night.

Rev. Brown says he’s not just as an author and pastor, but a force for positive change.
