Yard Ticket, PayMaster Gives Party Goers Deal For Events

Popular events ticketing company Yard Ticket, has inked a deal with Paymaster, to provide the opportunity for party goers to purchase tickets through Paymaster outlets without credit cards or PayPal accounts.

According to Mike Marsh, spokesperson at Yard Ticket, Jamaica is not fully immersed into the digital era where credit cards and online shopping are the order of the day. Therefore the company has created a way to cater to persons who are not yet equipped with the skills to navigate the digital world and those who prefer easier options.

"We've been selling tickets online for events for over four years and we saw a need to introduce an alternative for people without credit cards or PayPal accounts. The system was implemented last month and it will make it easier for persons without credit cards to order tickets due to the fact that there are a number of Paymaster locations islandwide," he said.

Yard Tickets is currently one of the major companies that promote and sell tickets online. With over 50,000 active subscribers, Marsh says the deal with Paymaster will extend the reach of the brand.

Marsh also stated that the deal would not only benefit partygoers, but also event managers and promoters.

"Paymaster has over 100 locations islandwide and this will create additional convenience for their patrons. Event managers will also save time by having funds sent to them electronically rather than having to drive around and collect cash. This rules out issues of theft, misappropriation of funds among other things," he said.

The Paymaster and Yard Ticket deal will not carry an additional cost on the part of event organisers. Marsh says the company is simply trying to get Jamaicans involved in eCommerce while simultaneously making life easier.

Events like BritJam, The Great Escape, Electric Butterfly Music Festival and 2016 Theatre Production 'PAN', have already capitalised on the new opportunity.
