Joss Stone Back In Billboard Top 10

Joss Stone’s Water For Your Soul is showing staying power on the Billboard Reggae Albums listing, re-entering the top 10 to place ninth in its 58th week on the chart. It is not the first time the former chart-topper has cracked the top 10 after falling further down the chart. This time around it moves up from number 14.

Three Jamaican solo artistes line up on the upper echelons of the Billboard Reggae albums listing for the week ending September 24. They do not include Papa San, whose Journey debuted at number seven last week but has fallen out of the top 10. Stephen Marley’s Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life maintains its number four position from last week, as does Morgan Heritage with Strictly Roots. Ziggy Marley’s self-titled album is up two places from last week to hold the number six position.

Of the three, Strictly Roots has enjoyed the longest stint and has now spent 41 weeks on Billboard chart.

There is a new number one in The Frighters Nothing More to Say, which debuts at the to position, pushing last week’s leader Falling Into Place (Rebelution) second placed Set in Stone (Stick Figure) into second and third, respectively.

Completing the top 10 are Wandering Soul (HIRIE) at seven and the Reggae Gold 2016 and Reggae Sun Jammin’ various artistes compilations at eight and 10 respectively.

Dancehall’s presence on the Billboard’s Hot 100 ranking continues with Sia’s Cheap Thrills, on which Sean Paul features, keeping its number four position from last week. Cheap Thrills is on to its 30th week on the Hot 100. However, Cheap Thrills has topped the Billboard’s Radio Songs ranking.

The reworking of 1990s dancehall continues to enjoy Billboard success. Tory Lanez’s Luv (which utilises Tanto Metro and Devonte’s Everyone Falls in Love Sometimes) has moved up two places from last week to hold the number 19 slot. Drake’s Controlla, which has a snippet of Beenie Man’s Tear Off Mi Garment, has slipped a place to number 27. Fifth Harmony and Fetty Wap’s All in my Head (Flex), which has a bit of Cobra’s Flex, has lost significant ground and is now at number 47, down seven places since from week.

Charly Black’s Gyal You a Party Animal, has edged up a place to hold the number 23 position on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
