Audiofly, Protoje and Dub Fire set to headline Tmrw. Tday Culture Festival 2019

Next spring, the 'festi-vacation of a lifetime' returns to the original hippie seaside town - Negril, Jamaica. Entering its third year, the 2019 Tmrw. Tday Culture Festival will again take over multiple venues alongside the famous seven-mile beach and West End Cliffs. For this instalment, organisers are offering the familiar mixed bag of musical vibes, garden-to-plate dining, holistic healing - and cannabis.

Scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 5, the festival recently announced a well-rounded line-up of top reggae, house, and dub performers. "We have some foundation people like Teflon Zinc Fence. People really enjoyed when he played the first two years," festival director Kevin Bourke told The Gleaner.

Along with Teflon, New York-based reggae aficionado and Red Bull Radio host Max Glazer of Federation Sound and founder of Island Records Chris Blackwell will take their turns around the turntables.

Most exciting on the reggae music roster is Tmrw. Tday's Grammy-nominated headliner Protoje. "[Protoje] played in year one. A lot of the tourists were talking about it, so we brought him back. He's just getting better and better."

Dub & House

This year's dub and house music line-up is just as impressive. For the first time, international house music act Dubfire will grace the festival stage, playing alongside local acts Charles Lazarus, Peter Barrow and Kwame Frederick. "Dubfire was intrigued to come play a back-to-back dub set with Teflon - which is amazing," Bourke said.

AudioFly, 'bredjins' from Barcelona, Spain, will return, bringing their expertise from major international music festivals like Coachella and Burning Man.

During the day will be the Irie Soul Beach Retreat activities, presented by Tmrw. Tday's own Good Vibez Tribe. This will feature powerful yoga, meditation, ecstatic dance, a sound-healing programme, and transformational workshops - to keep festivalgoers mentally and physically engaged.

Spoken word artiste Marcos Mendosa also returns as the official Tribe Talks host, leading discussions focused on consciousness, social impact, and self-care. The talks will be powered by Mindvalley Toronto, and led by Mindvalley University master certified trainer, co-founder of empowered360 experiences, and host of the 'Global Changemaker' series, Nitasha Sarin.

Sound Garden

Along with the music-focused events, Tmrw. Tday established 'The Garden' of Mary to give guests the chance to take part in plant medicine ceremonies, cannabis culture, and wellness vendors, all capped off with a keynote cannabis panel with leading advocates, doctors, and business owners. This panel will include president of Ganja Farmers Association Ras Iyah V; founder of Kaya Inc Bali Vaswani; Chris Hawk, and others to be announced.

Tmrw. Tday will introduce a sound garden, orchestrated by Justin Roy of Love Cow, a sound and healing arts community born out of Burning Man in 2016. "These guys are very big, and they're coming to give some sounds people have never heard before," Bourke adds.
