Deandra Matherson is planning to change the feet of accessories in Jamaica with Clip to Fit.

Clip to Fit was started in November 2015. It is an accessories line that caters to everything shoes, as it provides heel protectors for those fabulous stilettos that you may wear to that garden wedding, as well as custom made shoe clips and accessories.

Being an entrepreneur had always been a dream for this Holy Childhood High School old girl and University of the West Indies undergraduate. However, it was her mother who gave her the inspiration to start Clip to Fit.

"Four years ago, we were invited to a cousin's wedding. My mother had this

particular dress in mind that she wanted to wear, and said, 'If only I had a bow or something to wear on my shoe that would complement the dress'. It was a light-bulb moment, and then I offered to make one for her," Matherson told Flair.

They went to the fabric store and got the essential items. She took a pair of her old clip-on earrings and some glue, and that was how she made her first accessory. While the idea never left her mind it was pushed to the back burner for some time, as she was an event coordinator. It was last year after much contemplation, job applications, interviews and encouragement from close friends and family that she decided to take the risk. She needed to be doing something that she loved.

Matherson wanted to make a pair of shoes more versatile. Changing black pumps into something more 'sassy', depending on what the woman is looking for. Her line has blossomed for her. Because of the colourful and flexible designs, they have also manifested themselves into barefoot sandals and have been a hit this summer. Thus, Clip to Fit has become a multifunctional accessory that is budget-friendly.

Clip to Fit plans to continue to expand the Leg Envy Collection, which comprises ankle straps and mid-calf to thigh-high accessories, with a second collection under way to be launched by early 2017, which will be called Shoe Crush. This will be accessories that are will be directly attached to the shoe (without damaging it). She plans to also promote the heel protectors that will help you staying grounded irrespective of the terrain.
