Delectable bites at Shaggy and Friends
They might have come for the show, but the food was certainly hard to ignore.
Shaggy and Friends, the popular star-studded concert that raises funds for the Bustamante Hospital for Children, was the centre of attention in St Andrew last weekend. With the likes of international superstar Sting, Wyclef Jean, Junior Reid, and Barrington Levy joining concert conceptualiser Orville 'Shaggy' Burrell to entertain the masses on the lawns of Jamaica House, the entertainment was top-notch.
But we Jamaicans know that no event is really complete without the right food. Luckily, Shaggy and Friends had that area covered thanks to delicious presentations from Rainforest Seafoods; Grace Foods; Jablum; St Mary's Banana Chips; Chocolate Dreams; Kande's Delights the Culinary Federation of Jamaica, and others, patrons had multiple choices to satisfy their tastes as the entertainers on stage satisfied their musical wishes.
Food lines were long but quick-moving and the vibe was right as patrons noshed and rocked. Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited's (CPJ) bar was a hotbed of activity, serving up spirited concoctions that perfectly complemented the culinary offerings. Here are some highlights of the tasty side of Shaggy and Friends.
