Through bursting flavours and spices, your taste buds will be at peace at Pasta House. It's attached to the hip location, The Haven, a strategic position that makes it easy for all adventurous eaters to find it. Stefany Mathie is the woman with the creative mind and hands who's in command of Pasta House. The flight attendant by profession, but chef by heart, told Food that her two-year-old venture is inspired by her experience with the cuisine at Footprint Cafe, an international Jamaican restaurant. "There, it's called Rasta pasta. And you have all kinds of it, including oxtail Rasta pasta. While I was there, I watched them and thought to myself that I can make it, too, and that there isn't anywhere in Jamaica that does it. So, I perfected the sauce, and remade them from scratch to get them to taste how I want them," Mathie told Food.

SAUCES

The sauces are made with authentic Jamaican herbs and spices and pineapple. Currently, Mathie has the original, curry and pineapple sauces that she uses to transform the taste of the plain old pasta. She calls them Somme Jamaican Pasta Sauce and hopes to add a 'rundown' pasta sauce to the collection soon. "These are real Jamaican sauces. So don't think about any Alfredo sauce," she said.

MEALS

Pasta House experiments with its meals to create unique signature dishes or improved variations of meals already known. The pineapple chicken pasta is Pasta House's signature meal, with the zesty pineapple taste popping out in each bite. The tenderly cooked chicken with the pasta immersed in the pineapple sauce, and topped with Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, will surely please your palate. And you may also find the curried shrimp pasta and grilled pasta meals, two delicacies flavoured with the curry and original pasta sauces, respectively, and well worth your time.

The pot bubbles at Pasta House only on the first and last Friday of each month, but there is food galore. So, there is no need for you to worry. "I have meals for everyone, including vegetarians and Rastafarians. The pastafari is a vegetable pasta meal (which is fitting for them)," she told Food.
