Burgers are a fun way to enjoy a quick and tasty meal in half the time. Instead of your typical chicken or beef burger, Alexander’s Restaurant, located within The Courtleigh Hotel and Suites, has decided to turn up the heat this summer by rolling out their new gourmet burger menu that is destined to have tongues wagging for the rest of the season.

Food decided to take a trip to Alexander’s to check out the new menu and was taken aback by the soft tropical feel of its interior. With warm lighting and tasteful artwork, Alexander’s offers a relaxing environment which is ideal for lunch or dinner. Through California-styled shutters, the Caribbean sun reflected in their outdoor pool, which cast a golden hue on their garden filled with exotic blossoms. The restaurant also offers a private alcove which provides a more intimate dining setting.

A lingering feature in the restaurant is the tantalising aroma of decadent burgers made with local herbs and spices. Alexander’s has a wide array of burgers which caters to every palate. Their selections include the vegan burger made with mushrooms and onions sautéed in white wine, with roasted eggplant and sweet corn added. Base brushed with callaloo hummus. Their original beef burger, adorned with Swiss cheese, bacon and grilled pineapple. Alexander’s jerked chicken burger is grilled and brushed with jerk sauce, topped with ripe plantain.

Who would have thought there could ever be a curried chicken burger? Well, Alexander’s has the culturally infused burger on their menu. Glazed with a curry coconut sauce and topped with crunchy breaded onion rings, fresh garden lettuce, tomato, pickled cucumber with a Scotch bonnet mayo, this burger is absolutely delicious. Alexander’s also specialises in a tasty fish burger made from panko crusted fish fillet and shrimp, with a mango papaya salsa base.

“People will love the burgers because they are fluffy and filling,” said Brittany Brown, public relations coordinator. “We have always had burgers on our menu, but now we are doing them a lot better. With new ingredients added, we are now able to do a lot more,” said Chef de partie Theodore Lyn. Chef Lyn’s must-try burger is the curried chicken burger.
