Food recently ‘wined’ down at the newest hotspot in Kingston, and we were in for a truly remarkable experience.
“Once you enter the location, the name becomes apparent. You are submerged in a tropical oasis. The flowing water, the ambient lighting and inspired decor give you the feeling that you could literally be at home on your porch,” owner Chad Williams explained.
The idea of ‘The Porch’, he says, was birthed out of the realisation that there was a lack of dining or lyming options for persons in search of a cosy, comfortable, chill vibe in the metropolis of Kingston, offering extensive wine selections, signature cocktails and an overall enchanting gastronomical experience.
The menu at The Porch boasts ‘sali-savoury’ offerings for just about everyone. Among the bestsellers, the signature oxtail pasta, pork lovers flats, the mushroom and lychee burger pique palates with flavour. But all items on the flatbreads and bruschettas, pastas, salads, burgers, starters and shared pleasures menu have been referred continuously by guests. “We have spent a great deal of time perfecting all of the dishes: this has attributed to their success. Our chefs’ signatures are available for only a limited time and changes often to tantalise those taste buds,” he added.
After having a soft opening, the feedback since then has been phenomenal. Reservations keep the eatery busy, accounting for 60 per cent of guest patronage. “We don’t consider ourselves a restaurant. We are an experience. Our location is breathtaking. We work hard to offer exceptional service and our guests are our family. When they are here, they are home.”
