According to Amit Ray, “Each moment has a different flavour, different beauty and different texture.” That’s the epic experience Jason Harvy is counting on once you enter Exit 21.

Harvy always dreamed of becoming a restaurateur. “Exit 21, it is a gift from God. It has been one of my goals from a young age. I always prayed about having my restaurant, a premium restaurant to be exact,” he told Food. So he cooked up the ingredients of his vision into a sizzling reality, plating tasty plans between the years 2013 and 2014.

Describing his time growing up as an adventure, filled with priceless moments, it was only fitting that he honoured a monumental milestone in his life, by naming his food establishment. After weeks of thinking up a suitable name to match his restaurant, he began recounting meaningful life events and places he visited, then it hit him. “I got my first break at the age of 21, that’s when I ‘exited’ my past life and started on a new journey.” That gave birth to Exit 21.

Harvy had a soft opening of his ‘labour of love’ on Valentine’s Day of this year. With that great reception, he piggybacked on that success, setting the official launch for March 27. But the COVID-19 pandemic had other plans, pushing back his course of action. This, however, hasn’t deterred the entrepreneur from being innovative.

Business is slow during these times and he isn’t able to accommodate dine-in and showcase the lovely space. So for now, the premium lounge is offering kerbside pickup, delivery and takeout services.

While Harvy confessed that he doesn’t have a favourite on the menu because they are all wonderful, he and his dedicated team have already developed signature dishes to please for your palate. “Our signature dishes include grilled apple-smoked pork chops, pan-seared maple glazed salmon, Exit 21 burger and a unique drink made with Scotch bonnet peppers, the ‘Fire Exit’.”

So if you’re looking for the delicious difference your taste buds so rightfully deserve, enter the enticing ‘Exit 21’ experience today. For more information, visit the location at 10 Dominica Drive, Kingston, for kerbside pickup or follow on Instagram: @exit21ja
