Where there is love, there is life, and Courtney and Dr Mickha Francis have both in abundance, living life to the fullest and making pit stops with fun, excitement and a will to share and inspire along the way.

In true millennial style, the couple met on Facebook and have been together for seven years and married for five years. Courtney, a fitness guru and professional photographer, and his veterinarian wife, Mickha, are quite the whimsical modern-day dynamic duo. With a combined social media following of 31,000 followers across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, humour and spontaneity seem to be the ingredients that keep the flame going. The two had an exciting Smirnoff cocktail mix off at the Cellar 8 Wine Bar, where they also shared some fun tidbits about themselves.

You’re well known for being a fun and wholesome couple, but when it comes to cocktails, what’s your guilty pleasure?

Courtney: I’ll have a Dirty Banana at any time of the day if I could.

Mickha: A Martini is a girl’s best friend. My preference is usually an apple martini, but a good ol’ lychee martini also does the trick.

Which is better: Friday night lyme or Sunday brunch?

Courtney: Definitely Friday Night Lyme. After a hectic week, you want to kick-start the weekend with the right vibes. Chilling with friends on a Friday night with a few drinks would do the trick.

Mickha: I prefer Sunday Brunch because it’s a better opportunity in the daytime to get dolled up.

Who’s better at making cocktails?

Courtney: Easily, I am.

Mickha: No, Courtney, you very well know I’m better at making cocktails.

What do you enjoy doing together?

Courtney: I enjoy going to the water sites such as going to the river, beach or even just the poolside.

Mickha: For me, it’s anywhere you can dress up, get glammed, eat food and drink a tall glass of wine.

Which of the cocktails done today was your favourite – the Smirnoff Tropics or the Smirnoff Stinger?

Courtney: I preferred the Smirnoff Stinger because you can never go wrong with Smirnoff Vodka and grapefruit soda. The two just blend perfectly together. The taste is not too overpowering, so I was better able to enjoy the cocktail.

Mickha: For me, it’s the Smirnoff Tropics which is Smirnoff Vodka mixed with pineapple juice. Pineapples are quite luxuriant and tropical [and] blend harmoniously with almost all spirits, well with the ones I’ve tasted. Plus, pineapples are everybody’s favourite fruit.

If you had one day left to live, what would you do?

Mickha: I’d definitely book into the most expensive all-inclusive hotel; spending my last days with alcohol in one hand and food in the other.

Courtney: Unlike Mickha, I’d love to spend it with lots of food and my family.

Where would you most like to go on a liquor vacation?

Courtney: No weh nuh betta dan yard, but I’d love to vacation in the Bahamas with some tantalising Bahamian coconut rum on the beach. Second, to Jamaica, the Bahamas has some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever laid my eyes on.

Mickha: The first place that came to mind was Las Vegas because there never seems to be a downtime. You can literally have a drink at any hour of the day, and it’s the norm. Thinking about it further, I’d have to say Paris is my destination of choice with its amazing food and wines.

Would you rather go to a wine cellar or a restaurant/bar for a romantic date?

Courtney: I’m a big foody, so I’d definitely prefer going to a restaurant.

Mickha: A wine cellar is my obvious choice. The ambience is already sexy, flirty and romantic that will set the tone for some good one-on-one time with your significant other.

If you could be an alcoholic beverage, who would you be and why?

Courtney: I’d be a Martini on the rocks because it’s the 007 of liquors

Mickha: For me, I’m definitely like a glass of Pinot Grigio, or Moscato because it’s not too harsh, and it represents a great flirty kind of happiness and sophistication.
