A toast to avocado!
It’s avocado season in Jamaica! And let’s face it, if you’re Jamaican, you’ve had the beloved avocado, aka pear, and bread. But with millennials and Gen Z redefining this dish online, it’s now nouveau and called avocado toast. These incredibly easy, incredibly delicious combinations of creamy avocado, crispy toast and flavourful toppings will have you rethinking your entire breakfast menu with a chef’s hat on.
Before we spill the details, here are a few tips:
- Always mash your avocado separately. We don’t want holes in our toast!
- Choose a relatively thick slice of bread for a sturdy conduit if your toppings are hefty!
- After toasting your bread, gently rub a nub of garlic across your slice for a game-changing flavour.
