As a former member of the Uchence Wilson Gang was pressed by defence attorneys yesterday, he revealed that accused Shantol Gordon made threatening calls to him after the reputed gang leader was arrested in 2017.

Gordon is said to have been Wilson’s girlfriend at the time of his arrest and is the mother of his child.

The witness made the revelation under cross-examination by Gordon’s attorney, Sean Osbourne.

Answering questions posed by Chief Justice Bryan Sykes, the witness said Gordon blamed him for Wilson’s arrest, labelling him an “informer”.

The witness told the court that Gordon called him twice and cursed him, using expletives. He said the accused also sent him a text message to voice her displeasure.

The witness was giving testimony via video link as the trial for Wilson and his 23 alleged cronies continued at the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston.

Osbourne also suggested that the witness told his client that he was a member of the St Catherine-based Paradise community.

However, the witness disagreed with the suggestion, citing that he barely spoke to Gordon.

Justice Sykes also posed questions about the relationship between the witness and Gordon.

In answer to such questions, the witness said that he really only came in contact with Gordon when he would collect food from her to deliver to Wilson.

The witness said that although he operated a taxi on Wilson’s behalf, he had no dealings with Gordon as it related to funds collected from this venture.

Police officers said to have arranged the identification parades, which led to the identification of Stephenson ‘Slim’ Bennett, Michael ‘Judge’ Lamont, and Wilson also took the stand.

The 24 alleged gangsters, which include four women and a policeman, are on trial for breaches of the Criminal Justice (Suppression of Criminal Organisation) 2014, commonly referred to as the anti-gang legislation, for alleged crimes committed between 2015 and 2017.
