CXC temporarily closing Barbados office, extending shutdown for Jamaica
As of Monday, the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) will temporarily close its offices in Bridgetown, Barbados and will be extending the closure of its outfit in Kingston, Jamaica.
In a statement Saturday afternoon, CXC said both locations will remain closed until further notice.
It follows what CXC called the regional and international developments relating to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Council said it was ensuring that its operations are consistent with established national protocols in controlling the spread of the disease.
"In the interim, we are taking the necessary steps to minimise disruptions to our activities during this critical time," said a spokesperson in the statement.
According to CXC, where possible, employees will work from their homes to maintain some of the core functions of the organisation.
