Following the publication of the story ‘Wife of murdered activist rules out political motive’, in the Wednesday edition of The Gleaner, there have been concerns surrounding facts carried in our report.

It has been brought to our attention that Kemisha Coleman-Henry, wife of deceased Paul Henry, allegedly told her mother-in-law that she did not tell our news team that his death was not politically motivated.

The mother-in-law made that assertion during a radio interview on Wednesday afternoon.

The Gleaner, however, stands by the article published and the sentiments attributed to Coleman-Henry in our story.

Here is the transcript from the audio in relation to Coleman-Henry’s comment.

Reporter: “I would like to ask if you feel that his (Paul Henry) death has anything to do with the politics or the season?”

Kemisha Coleman-Henry: “No (moving head from left to right), I don’t think so.”
