Observer’s Hendricks elected PAJ president
Jamaica Observer Business Content Manager Dashan Hendricks yesterday was elected president of the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) during its annual general meeting at the PAJ’s East Avenue headquarters in St Andrew.
Hendricks’ nomination was unopposed.
He replaces Milton Walker, who served as president for one term after being elected in 2022.
Walker, however, remains on the executive as he was elected a director.
Hendricks will be joined on the executive by returning members Kimberley Hibbert, first vice-president; Jovan Johnson, treasurer; Lloyd B. Smith, director; and Javaughn Keyes, assistant secretary- treasurer.
The new members of the executive are Neika Lewis of CVM TV, who has been elected second vice-president; Rochelle Clayton of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group, who has been elected secretary; and Ramon Gordon of CVM, who was elected a director.
In his acceptance speech, Hendricks said he was aware that it would not be an easy job but vowed to continue to lift the image of the PAJ locally and internationally,as well as find innovative ways to re-engage members.
The new executive will serve for two years.
