Acknowledge Jerusalem as Israeli capital
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Making big decisions is often difficult. But sometimes we have to go against the tide and do it anyway. We make the first step because we know it is the right thing to do.
This December marks the one-year anniversary of President Trump's announcement to move the US embassy to Jerusalem - a decision that honours the biblical historical inheritance of the people of Israel.
Despite the tsunami of initial opposition, Trump's brave move has motivated several other nations, including Guatemala, Honduras, and even more recently, Australia and Brazil, to be free to express their beliefs and solidarity with the nation of Israel to have the right to choose Jerusalem as its capital.
I applaud the president of the United States for rightfully recognising Jerusalem's capital status. I encourage the Jamaican Government to do the same. Put the Jamaican embassy in Jerusalem, the capital city chosen by God.
