Tufton condemns Opposition for ‘unwarranted’ attacks on health officials

“Any word on CRH? Pressure pipe buss!”

– @aarons_andre

“He said he serves at the PM’s pleasure and leisure. This man nuh easy at all! He’s not even addressed the disgrace at the hospitals under his leadership. Tufton, you must resign now!”

- @willryanwilson

“So the PNP thinks that its sole purpose is to oppose?”

– @ranranlam

“Stand firm, Tufton.”

– @kashiepoo10

“Wow, just wow! ... when is the next election again?”

– @thepeopevoice

“Nobody is blaming the public-sector workers, they are doing the best they can with the resources they are given. We are simply holding you accountable because this is your ministry that you clearly don’t have a hold of. Also, to say these claims are imaginary is a slap in the face to all of us who have had to go through the public system one way or the other and face the poor conditions. RIP to those who never lived to share their side of the story.”

– @dstew876

“With due respect, sir, all we require as a people is for those in power to work on our behalf, as well as work with both accountability and transparency. Too much sketchy business and mismanagement here and there. Supposedly, while you might not be the person, they are your subordinates and so we need to see things dealt with and done in order. If it were the ordinary man, would there be this much grace? No matter the sugar-coat, we deserve ethical standards from those who are set to manage public offices. Why is that so hard?”

– @funsize_876

“You need to resign, we all can see the horrible state of the hospitals in Jamaica.”

– @winniefredcohen

“A political solution is needed to remove Dr Tufton, and with that said, the people of Jamaica need to vote out this entire administration in the next general election.”

– Monair Benjamin

“Mr Tufton, if you are doing an exceptional job and your position is secured, why is it necessary to respond to the demands of resignation?”

– Kingsley Wright

“I am watching TVJ news right now. I hope Tufton is watching and hear the breaking news from a mother at the May Pen Hospital who is crying for help for her baby to get a ventilator to save the baby’s life .... The lady needs help right now, [it] is three weeks now she is waiting.”
