Santa Cruz to Maggotty roadways in bad shape
THE EDITOR, Madam:
The roads leading from Santa Cruz to Maggotty are rapidly deteriorating and need urgent and immediate attention. Over time, their state have become difficult to navigate, and motorists are becoming exhausted as they try to avoid each pothole.
This is concerning, as they pose a threat to the safety of the commuting public, with the likelihood of accidents happening.
People can hardly keep up with the constant damage to their vehicles, which see them making frequent trips to the mechanic for repairs. This is financially draining.
Why should major roadways be left in such deplorable conditions? Why aren’t the elected officials paying attention and making things right? Why not be proactive and fix the small holes before they become ‘craters’? Why wasn’t work done during the summer break, when school was not in session? Why does one get the feeling that they’re waiting a week before Christmas to do the usual once-per-year patching?
Will the powers that be get to work and prioritise this infrastructure for safe and better commute?
