Dancing in the spotlight of their wedding reception, Adiasha Gordon gazed longingly into the eyes of her husband, Fitzroy Thomas, to the sound of Perfect by Ed Sheeran. The stare reciprocated, it was a reflection of the love they share and the beautiful journey that brought these newly-weds from a chance encounter to happily ever after.

“I felt like I was floating on clouds now that I was finally Mrs Thomas,” Adiasha said, reflecting on her first dance with her husband to Island Wedding.

Admitting that initially, she thought he was “fine”, as she got to know the handsome stranger better, Adiasha found Ftizroy’s affectionate, dependable, dedicated, and supportive nature to be a breath of fresh air. “I saw how loving, caring and inspiring he is. He is always motivating me to aim higher. I felt something good about him, like it was a Godly match, made in heaven. The bond was just so strong from the start,” she shared.

Meeting her while at work, Fitzroy couldn’t get over how determined Adiasha was. Three weeks after getting to know her, he discovered her caring, loving, and godly side, and he was in love. “She’s always looking out for other people’s well-being, and she tends to help out a lot of persons who are in need,” he said. The two were already in a relationship in under a month.

There was an indescribable feeling, but what Fitzroy never saw coming was the positive impact she would have on his life. “She has given me a second chance to become a better man and has shown me some different channels towards life.”

Adiasha shared the similar life-changing sentiment, noting that her beloved shattered all of her doubts with confidence, holding her to her word while encouraging her in all of her endeavours. “I always come up with good ideas but never execute them. I was too afraid of losing, and I guess that’s why God sent him my way. He ensures that I execute whatever idea I share with him, and if I fail, he always motivates me to get up and try again. Even when I feel like giving up, he always has a word to change my mind,” she shared.

Big on socialising, the couple enjoys cooking together, embarking on new adventures with road trips, as well as setting long-term goals and putting steps in place to achieve them. They also rekindle their romance with date nights at Danny Marina. The food, Fitzroy says, is good and the view of the sea is calming and relaxing. Nothing, of course, could compare to the breathtaking view of the angel before him.

He realised that she was the one when she showed him that she was really willing to go through the tough days together. He was moved to take one step closer to forever.

Three years and two months had already passed since love blossomed for Fitzroy and Adiasha, so he decided it was time to become one and make the love of his life his wife.

It was New Year’s morning at church and Fitzroy gave his darling the fresh start she never expected. “I asked her to marry me at Watch Night. It was a good way to ‘ring’ in the new year,” he revealed. Adiasha, elated by this beautiful surprise, was happy to say yes. “When I saw him take the mic, I got up and attempted to run out of the church. The congregation blocked me, and all I had to do was just say yes. I was so nervous, with goose bumps all over.”

On the road to ‘I do’, friends and family members pitched in to make the nuptial dream a reality. The planning process wasn’t easy, the bride-to-be said, but she was grateful for the assistance of loved ones.

On May 27, Adiasha and Fitzroy joined hands and hearts in a wonderful wedding ceremony at Central Assemblies of God in Kingston. In a sea of cool cobalt blue with waves of romantic rose red, the stunning bride made her way up the aisle in a mermaid wedding dress, complete with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline, along with floral and beading and a ruffled finish, to greet her handsome groom, suited in white.

“The best moment for me was when I turned around and saw my bride in her wedding gown looking so beautiful and smiling at me,” the groom recounted.

The nuptial festivities continued with the reception at LaVida Venue by Pollyanna Caterers. “The wedding was everything that I hoped for, and I could not have asked for anything better,” the bride shared.
