Grade-six student stabbed to death by classmate

A grade-six student of the Barrett Town All Age in St James was today stabbed to death allegedly by a classmate.

The Ministry of Education has expressed shock and sadness at the fatal stabbing.

It says following the stabbing of little Shaheim Lewis allegedly by a classmate, a trauma team was dispatched to the school.

Education Minister Ronald Thwaites, has reportedly contacted the school and relatives of the child to express condolences.

He has called for the relatives of the student who did the stabbing to take him to the police, so that the law can take its course.

The Education Minister adds that the services of the Ministry's guidance counselling team are available to the relatives of the accused.
