KSAC demolishes Heroes Circle vendors stalls

Food vendors who operate in Heroes Circle in Kingston are upset after their stalls were today demolished by the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC).

This morning, personnel from the KSAC visited the area and removed stalls on the sidewalk along the popular roadway.

A vendor, Marsha, says she and other vendors were not given proper notice about the removal.

Another vendor described the KSAC’s action was cruel and uncaring.

She stressed that many of those who have been selling along hero’s circle have been doing so for generations and that food vending is the main source of income for several families in the area.

The woman further emphasised that she relies on her vending to send her children to school and to pay for the medication for a sick child.
