Jamaica’s Court of Appeal will not sit today as it honours late retired high court judge, Boyd Carey, who died earlier this month.

A notice on the court’s website said there will be no sitting as the day will be used to pay respects to the former justice Carey.

On May 11 when he died, Appeals Court president, Justice Seymour Panton, lamented that the former appeals court judge was never honoured by the government for his service.

He said Justice Carey was one of the brightest legal minds in the region.

No date has been announced for the funeral.
