A 52-year-old St Ann woman has been charged with embezzlement in relation to the alleged theft of over $3 million from her employer.

She is Florient Casserly, a customer service representative of Golden Grove.

According to reports from the St Ann police, Casserly was a cashier at an establishment in Claremont.

Her task was collecting bill payments from customers, processing the transactions, and issuing receipts.

She allegedly waited until the customers left, then used her supervisor's login to void the transactions and keep the monies for herself.

The complainant, acting on information from concerned customers, conducted an investigation and discovered that she had allegedly embezzled $3,380,000 over a period of time.

A report was made to the police after she failed to hand over the money and was taken into custody.

Casserly was charged after a question-and-answer session with her attorney.
