The Ministry of Justice will host a town hall meeting at the St Luke’s Anglican Church Hall, 89 Slipe Road in Kingston at 5 o’clock today.

The Ministry of Justice will be hosting a town hall meeting this afternoon to raise awareness of the amendments made to the Dangerous Drugs Act.

The meeting is to be held at the St Luke’s Anglican Church Hall, 89 Slipe Road in Kingston at 5 o’clock.

Justice Minister Mark Golding will be among those making presentations.

The Dangerous Drugs (Amendment) Act was brought into operation on April 15 making possession of two or less ounces of ganja a ticketable offence.

The ministry says the town hall meeting will seek to address the misconceptions held by the public about the law relating to the treatment of ganja and will provide an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions on the controversial subject.

Topics to be discussed include possession of ganja, use of ganja as a sacrament and cultivation for personal and medicinal or therapeutic use.
