Do not pay fees for Canadian farm work applications, ministry urges

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security is urging persons to immediately report to the police any one offering farm work placement in exchange for money.
According to the ministry, there are no fees attached to the application forms for the Canadian Seasonal Agricultural (Farm) Work programme.
The ministry says the payment of fees only becomes necessary after a person has completed the interview process and medical examination.
Successful applicants are required to pay for a Police Certificate at tax offices.
They are required to pay Biometric fees for fingerprinting and photographs at Scotia Bank.
They are also required to pay for their Canadian visa application at Scotia Bank.
As a result, the ministry says no fees should be paid to individuals.
Meanwhile, the Labour Ministry is reminding applicants that the forms for the programme should not be photocopied or reproduced in any way as they will not be accepted.
