Hay-Webster defeated, JLP's Campbell wins North East St Catherine seat contest

Attorney-at-law Leslie Campbell easily defeated former Member of Parliament Sharon Hay-Webster in their contest to be the JLP’s candidate for North East St Catherine.

Preliminary figures obtained by our news centre show that Campbell polled 111 votes to 39 for Hay-Webster.

The poll was conducted to select a replacement for incumbent Member of Parliament Gregory Mair who announced his resignation last month.

Speaking to our news centre a short while ago, Campbell said there is a lot of work to be done in the constituency.

He says his immediate focus is to identify the priorities and work to address them.
