PNP condemns north east St Elizabeth constituency office arson
The People's National Party (PNP) has condemned the arson of the constituency office of the Member of Parliament for north east St Elizabeth, Raymond Pryce.
His constituency office was destroyed last week by a fire which investigators believe was deliberately lit.
The fire left about a million dollars in damage.
Pryce, who will not be contesting the next general elections, has been facing stiff opposition in the constituency.
Last month businessman, Evon Redman, was elected by delegates to be the PNP's standard bearer in the next election.
The selection exercise was, however, characterised by a series of disputes between supporters of the camps, including a court challenge.
Pryce did not contest the delegate selection.
The PNP says the police will be doing a forensic investigation into the fire.
The party says it will be providing assistance to rebuild the office so constituents will not be inconvenienced for a long period of time.
