UPDATED: NCB Duke Street closed following shooting in attempted robbery

The National Commercial Bank on Duke Street in Kingston was closed for several hours this morning following a shooting incident outside its doors in an attempted robbery.

The robbers travelling on a motorcycle were challenged by a security guard and a licensed firearm holder.

However, they escaped.

It's reported that the robber was attacking a bearer who had just arrived.

The incident has forced police investigators to divert traffic in the vicinity of NCB Duke Street as Scenes of Crime sleuths process the area.

*NOTE: Earlier, this story had said that one of the robbers was shot. The police have since dismissed that report.
