Santa Claus is in town

Whatever you want to call him, Santa Claus is the face of Christmas. This gift-bearing man all decked out in his trademark red and white suit has found favour with Jamaican children and has been a part of the island's Christmas landscape for decades.

Whether they come from upper middle-class townhouses or from the gritty circumstances of the inner-city, Santa's visit engenders deafening squeals of delight. Now you can actually take your children to see Santa Claus!

Leave your footprints in the snow ... well not literally; Santa is here in Jamaica at Santa World.

Santa Claus is usually depicted as a chubby, white-bearded man, who rocks a red cloak, with matching red trousers paired with a black belt. He is said to come from the North Pole and is pulled across the globe on a sleigh operated by reindeer, carrying a bag full of gifts for children.

Now that Santa has found himself on the ground, from December 11 to 24, Santa World, located at the Hope Zoo, will provide a myriad of entertainment activities for your children from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with heaps of activities.

Go see Santa Claus and his elves, live reindeer, enjoy the party zone, visit his shopping village, the North Pole food court, gingerbread house, enjoy sleigh rides, prizes and surprises, as well as entertainment. Toddlers under three have free entry, adults pay $1,000 and children pay $800.
